Shark in A Jar- FREE PATTERN

Hey Everyone! My summer has been so busy, I've hardly had any time to crochet or design. I'm really super excited about my new...

About Me

I just thought I'd have a page for all my NCR (not crochet related) things.   I really love crochet so much, but that isn't my only hobby or favorite past time.  So my followers can get to know me a little better, I thought I'd post an about page.

Did you know I am a piano teacher too?  I've been playing since I was 8 years old (I'm 32 now).  Music is a huge part of my life.   I really love the connection between music and my emotions.   It truly speaks the language of my soul.  Whatever I'm feeling, there is probably a song that matches my mood, although I'm sure this is the same for so many people.  Music is a powerful tool of expression and is probably the reason I love it so much.  As a teacher, I get to share my passion with a younger generation and hopefully pass on the tradition of playing this beautiful instrument.  If you have any questions about teaching piano or just want to connect.  Let me know!

Another thing about me is that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I've had a wonderful opportunity to work with the young girls and women in our church.   I served as a leader for 8-11 year old girls for about 5 years.  I was released from that amazing calling and asked to serve in another amazing calling as the Young Women's Camp Director.   We just wrapped up our camp yesterday and let me tell you, these girls 12-18 are pretty awesome.  At that age, I don't think I ever could have been that spiritual and well-rounded as these girls are today.  I learned more from them than they learned from me.    It was such a great experience.   (I'll make another post for fellow leaders with some handouts I used)

I'm also a stay home mom.   Being a stay-at-home-mom  is NOTHING like I thought it would be.   It is so challenging and difficult at times, but it is also the most rewarding thing I've ever done.   My husband and I made the decision for me to stay home with our kids while they were young, and I would be lying if I said it was easy.  We have to make a lot of sacrifices, but I wouldn't trade being a stay home mom for all the money in the world, not even for an endless supply of yarn.  Having the opportunity to share all the little moments with my kids is the best!

So there are a few things about me. Did anything surprise you?  I hope you can relate to something about me.  I know one thing, in this big world, full of so many different people, there is always something you can find in common with someone else or that you can relate to in some way.

Be kind, show love and peace out! 😊💗✌
